Occasionally working in the hospitality industry has some perks! One of my coworkers had gotten free tickets to Legoland, and passed them on. My sister in law brought her nanny charge, and she and I loaded up the stroller and took the kiddies. We had a great time.
Father's Day. Greg is the best dad, so celebrating this day is especially great.
I got a haircut, which of course calls for a selfie. (Stay tuned for my work updates. Big changes are coming.)
4th of July
Family night at the beach. It was Hannah' first time.
Greg and I went with some friends from high school and saw Weezer at one of the Del Mar Fair's $6 concerts. Great show, and we had a good time. It's been a long time since we've gone to a concert.
My cousin came over to take some pictures of my kids, and Felicity was moderately cooperative.
My girl is growing up so much! She's so happy, and helpful, and sweet, and smart.
She did the Wee Sing group, and they performed on the 4th of July. It was hot as heck, but the kids did awesome. A lot of older people had gathered under the tent, and they especially loved the patriotic songs on the program.
This sister worships her siblings. Whenever I give her a choice between two things, she always says "what is Charlie going to pick? I want the same thing." He doesn't always reciprocate her admiration, but he tries.
Hannah though, does adore Felicity just as much as Felicity loves her.
She has the most beautiful thick red hair, and it is sort of wasted on me. I have about six styles in my repertoire. However, a friend did it for her before church a few weeks ago.
I love my sweet boy. He has been a delight this summer.
He has been reading every day, and working on his writing. He has been a huge help with Hannah (and mostly helpful with Felicity...depending on the day.)
Greg took Felicity on the father-daughter campout, and Charlie was excited to have a night together with me. He picked dinner (McDonald's.... shocker) and then wanted to "do all the things daddy usually does." He offered to run to the store (I would drive him there and give him the money and the list, but I could stay in the car while he picked everything up) and also to cook me a quesadilla. I'm fairly predictable, I guess.
Can't believe this boy starts first grade this week!
Hannah will be ten months old next week! She is getting so big and is so sweet. She recently loves vocalizing. She loves to squeal and screech. No one can make her laugh like Charlie. She has two teeth and two more nubbins. She is easily startled. She loves to eat leaves outside. She doesn't crawl terribly adeptly, but she has this mode of travel that gets her around: she can sit up from a laying or crawling position, so she will crawl one or two strides, and then she will sit up in the direction she is trying to go. Then she will reach toward where she wants to go, lay down, roll perhaps, do a crawl or two, and then sit up again. It's funny to watch. Most especially she loves to travel around in the walker. Charlie sets up speed bumps to prevent her from getting into his wii game.
The other day she was fussing longer than normal before her nap, so I went in, and she was standing in her crib! Since then, we lowered the crib, and she pulls herself up on everything. Including her lower crib, now.
She has the biggest eyes. And she makes great faces.
We have a high chair that hooks onto the table, and to save space, we stick it at the foot of the table with a chair underneath it. She has her feet out through the high chair, but she stands on the chair during all meals. It's hilarious. We keep telling her we will give her food, she can sit down, but she insists on standing.
Her grumpy cat face.
It made me laugh to see tiny girl at the big table.
I had to go to the doctor and had to drag all the kids with me. I had
brought a container of the little puffs she likes to eat, and also
Felicity is addicted to them. Hannah was getting fussy, so Felicity decided to help her out. She forcefully opened the tin, and instead exploded all the puffs and the whole inch of powder at the bottom all over Hannah. I just had to laugh. And shook her off over the floor. (I couldn't wipe it off with baby wipes because then it got wet and turned into puff mud.)
I managed a quick snap before I got her all cleaned up. I try not to be the weirdo who takes pictures instead of taking care of business, but sometimes, I can't help myself.
From the most cooperative member of the family during the photo shoot, we got these.
Some of the pictures Lauren took of Felicity are here. She took some of Charlie too (the most difficult of the little turkeys) and some of the three of them together, but I haven't gotten them back yet, so I will post those when I get them.
