Greg made it through bar prep and the California State Bar!
He took a five hour nap the next day. He deserved it. We are so happy to have him back.
I made it through to the 3rd trimester of this pregnancy. I feel like each day has been long (it's been a pretty rough pregnancy, actually), but hitting the milestone made me feel like it went quickly. It was nice to be looking forward to something else (the bar) instead of just waiting to have this baby every second. Made it go by quicker.
Still lots to look forward to in the coming weeks. First days of work/Kindergarten/preschool, then maternity leave, and then this baby comes!
I was going to do a separate post to discuss our post-bar plans because people have been asking, but since I'm here, I'll just quickly go through it.
Greg will be working at his mom's firm, starting up a new arm of the business. She is already doing bankruptcy law, and he will be doing some things with that as far as advertising and such goes, but she will be mostly doing the bankruptcy practice and he will be starting up estate planning. You don't find out about whether or not you pass the bar until the END of NOVEMBER (it's ridiculous), so it will be a little while before he becomes a real lawyer, but he will be basically doing all the lawyer stuff but under his mom as the supervising attorney. Everyone asks if we are moving up closer to the firm now, and we just re-signed our lease at our current place, so no. He will be commuting; we like it down here, and the drive really isn't that bad. I can't say we will never move up there (houses are sooooo much cheaper), but we generally think that where we are is the area we'd like to stay long-term. We don't have to think about buying a house anytime soon anyway, because student loans come due pretty soon here...I think we will be fine renting for a little while longer. ;)
